I wanted to create a silly/funny artwork based on John William Waterhouse's 1896 oil painting, Hylas and the Nymphs. The original painting shows Hylas dark and shadowed, but here, his expression appears as if he is wondering whether or not he wants to take one of the cats home. Meanwhile, the main kitty is about to come and drag him down! You wonder whether Hylas is getting kidnapped by the cats...or if HE's the one doing the catnapping?¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯
